The application process for any home loan is difficult, sometimes even intimidating. But it can be made easier and less stressful if the homebuyer is prepared and knows what to expect. That's why it's so important that borrowers choose the right loan officer to help from the beginning.
In 2010 LenderStreet launched the first consumer-initiated contact (CIC) engine of its kind in the lending industry. Here, we "match" homebuyers with local mortgage loan officers who have expertise in dealing with particular financing situations (like FHA, VA, USDA, HELOC and more).
Now, instead of relying on a friend's opinion or being reduced to "a number" by a lead aggregation website, prospective borrowers can search for and directly contact agents. Once the right agent is found, he or she can walk the borrower through financing options, help make informed decisions, and find the best deal for the situation.
LenderStreet's unique search engine uses up to 20 different criteria to pair homebuyers to suitable agents. After completing a short survey of preferences, borrowers can see all matching loan officers in order of compatibility. Borrowers are never asked for any personal information here, so the process is quite confidential. They decide how to shop, compare and contact mortgage agents.
Each agent's profile page may display a career biography, loan specialties, lending company affiliation, borrower testimonials, pictures and video. So before homebuyers even contact loan officers, they are able to get a good feel for how well the two might work together.
LenderStreet focuses specifically on the mortgage lending market while benefitting tangential markets like real estate or investing. Its original, friendly design is easy for anyone to navigate. The search service is free to everyone, and the information about agents is impartial.
LenderStreet is headquartered in Kansas City and employs several people in research, development, sales and marketing disciplines. All web development, marketing and search optimization is handled in-house by an industry-independent team, using both standard and proprietary technologies.
