10 Reasons Why Buying a Home Makes Sense

I’ve written a lot in this space about why the housing market is struggling, but I’ve tried to temper the negative news with this advice because I believe it’s true: It still makes sense for many people to buy a home.

In today’s Wall Street Journal, Brett Arends provided 10 reasons to buy a home, and it’s a great list. Arends keeps it simple and it’s sort of a common sense list, but I think it’s important to reinforce some of these reasons.

The bad economy, the housing bust and the expiration of the tax credit have dwindled the number of buyers, and that's part of the reason why it's a buyer's market in addition to the ridiculously low mortgage interest rates. People need to be reminded of this and the fact that it still makes a lot of sense to own a home.
